Introduction to Conscious Care and Support 8-week course
Upcoming Dates:
Wednesday 27 May 2026
Discover a transformative approach to support work with Shawn Allan, Michaela Kennedy and Peter Leidy, who will provide an overview of the 8-week program starting in January 2026.
The big piece is that makes this is such a unique training, is that it looks at both the person that’s being supported along with a supporter. Supporters go to so many trainings that are all about how we help others, in the way of fixing others. We hear so much about compassion fatigue and taking care of ourselves, but this is the compartmentalisation of the person with disabilities and their supporters. What makes CCS so unique, is that you can’t have one without the other. Someone’s wellness is dependent on the wellness of others as well; you must bring it together. That is what is makes CCS model different. We support the wellness of the person being supported as well as the supporters.
Key Topics Covered:
- Mindful Emotional Maturity – Developing self-awareness, empathy, and emotional regulation.
- Evidence-Based Support Strategies – Sensory integration, GI health, trauma recovery, and brain coherence techniques.
- Unconditional Compassion – Cultivating resilience and authentic care, even in challenging moments.
- Preventing Burnout – Addressing the “4 Outs” (burnout, tuning out, spacing out, freaking out) to Sustain Passion and Patience.
- Holistic Wellbeing – Integrating mindfulness, neuroplasticity, and nutrition for optimal support.
Why Attend?
- Improve quality of life for those you support through non-behavioural, trauma-informed approaches.
- Boost job satisfaction & resilience – Learn tools to stay grounded, compassionate, and practical.
- Learn from real-world expertise – Combines decades of leadership with cutting-edge neuroscience and mindful care practices.
“True care begins with conscious presence, for ourselves and those we support.”
